Former USF safety Fred Gaskin has joined Auburn‘s roster from the transfer portal, bringing the total of Bulls-turned-Tigers to eight so far this cycle.
Gaskin was an important piece of USF’s defensive backfield in 2025, making 53 tackles with three for loss, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. In coverage, he allowed 20-of-31 passes to be caught and gave up just one touchdown.
Gaskin was the latest former USF Bull to follow his former head coach, Alex Golesh, to the Plains, and was the fourth player to do so on Monday, joining tight end Jonathan Echols, running back Nykahi Davenport, and cornerback Gavin Jenkins. In all, eight players formerly of USF have committed to Auburn from the transfer portal, including wide receivers Jeremiah Koger and Christian Neptune, and quarterback Locklan Hewlitt. Auburn also officially landed former USF quarterback Byrum Brown early Tuesday morning.
