Former Longhorns RB Quintrevion Wisner signs with Florida State

After three years with the Texas Longhorns, running back Quintrevion Wisner is taking his talents to the Florida State Seminoles. The DeSoto High alum had been an important player for Texas since making his collegiate debut. He has one year of eligibility remaining before potentially entering the NFL Draft.

During his time as a Longhorn, Wisner recorded 1,734 rushing yards on 368 carries. He also found the end zone nine times and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. While the Texas native battled injuries at times, he was a very dependable player when healthy.

As Wisner made headlines with his legs, he also made an impact in the passing game. The former four-star recruit hauled in 66 receptions for 457 yards. While playing with Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, Wisner averaged 6.9 yards per reception. That made him a dangerous weapon regardless of who the opponent was.

Although Wisner only played in nine games during the 2025 campaign, he is less than two years removed from the best season of his college career. He set career highs in rushing yards with 1,064 and rushing touchdowns with five during his Sophomore season. That is the player Florida State is hoping to get as it looks to make a deep playoff run.

For Florida State, the addition of Wisner comes at the perfect time, with their two leading rushers moving on. Quarterback Thomas Castellanos has declared for the draft, and running back Gavin Sawchuk has entered the portal. While learning a new system, Wisner will be tasked with helping fill the void.

If Wisner can replicate his numbers from the 2024 campaign, the Semionles will be in good hands. As a sophomore, he showed that when healthy, he can spark an offense and make an impact in multiple ways. He will also be highly motivated with the draft looming and NFL teams looking for a spark at the running back position.
