Nebraska defensive lineman Keona Davis to enter transfer portal

Nebraska’s defensive line took a hit over the weekend. Sophomore defensive lineman Keona Davis announced that he will be entering the transfer portal.

This is the second consecutive season Davis has entered the portal. Last year, he returned to Nebraska after considering departing.

In 2025, he had 42 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. If Davis were to return to Nebraska, this would be his third defensive line coach and third defensive coordinator.

The Cornhuskers have hired Rob Aldrich to replace John Butler as DC, while head coach Matt Rhule is still looking for a new DL coach. Aldrich is changing Nebraska’s defensive scheme in 2026, moving on from the 3-3-5 and adopting a 4-2-5.
