Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

It was deserving given the standout performance he had in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins’ defense. He recorded seven carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.

His three-touchdown performance helped the Patriots cruise to a 38-10 blowout win in the finale. It was one of the best individual performances by a Patriots offensive player this season. Overall, Stevenson finished the regular season with over 30 carries for 603 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 32 catches for 345 yards and two touchdowns.

This is certainly a notable honor for Stevenson, as he has fully become a key component of the two-headed monster in the Patriots’ running back room with rookie TreVeyon Henderson.

The performance of the Patriots’ running backs down the stretch will have a major impact on how deep the team goes in the postseason.
