Wisconsin lands highly-coveted transfer from Ohio State

The Wisconsin Badgers have landed yet another highly-touted transfer defensive back, this commitment coming from former Ohio State cornerback Bryce West.

West didn’t see much action during his two seasons with the Buckeyes, but he had a key pass break-up during their 2024 playoff game against Tennessee. Ohio State fans expected him to be a starter this upcoming season and were surprised when he ended up entering the portal with a no-contact tag.

According to PFF, Bryce West graded out at a 71.2 overall and 70.6 in coverage, which would’ve been the highest for any Wisconsin defensive back last season. West was most utilized on kickoffs and as a slot cornerback as a Buckeye, but will surely be more active next season as a Badger.

New cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples has done an excellent job in the transfer portal cycle, landing five defensive backs thus far. Secondary was a glaring issue for Wisconsin in 2025. The unit is now shaping up to be one of the team’s more talented next season, thanks to these new additions.
