According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Atlanta Falcons have requested an interview with Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head coaching vacancy. Hafley’s defense finished 11th in points allowed last season, giving up 21.2 points per game.
The Packers finished the season in second place in the NFC North with a 9-7-1 record. Green Bay ranked 11th in passing yards allowed per contest and recorded 36 total sacks this season. Prior to joining the Packers in 2024, Hafley spent four years as the head coach at Boston College, leading the team to a 22–26 record.
Hafley can interview with teams following the Packers’ wild-card matchup against the Chicago Bears on Saturday, according to Fowler.

Falcons owner and chairman Arthur Blank met with the media on Thursday and discussed the team’s search for a new head coach, general manager and president of football. Blank confirmed that former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was in the mix for the president of football role, but said the team would look other options as well.
Blank also praised defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich for the job he did with Atlanta’s rookie class. While the Falcons owner said he’d be happy to see Ulbrich return, the decision would be left up to the next head coach.
