The Detroit Lions missed the playoffs for the first time in three years, but two of their players were named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press on Saturday, Jan. 10.
Linebacker Jack Campbell earned his first All-Pro nod after finishing second in the NFL with 176 tackles.
Campbell, 25, had a career-high five sacks and three forced fumbles in his third NFL season.
He is eligible for a contract extension this offseason for the first time, though he said late in the year he plans to “leave that up to everyone else.”
“I feel like the Lord‘s got a plan for me,” Campbell said. “I love it here. I absolutely love it here, but I mean, I haven’t really thought about it and I really don’t know what’s going to happen, so we’ll see.”
Campbell got 25 of a possible 50 first-team votes and 89 total points. Jordyn Brooks of the Miami Dolphins, who had 183 tackles, was the other linebacker in the first team (78 points, 21 first-team votes).
Right tackle Penei Sewell earned his third straight first-team All-Pro selection for the Lions. Sewell got 45 first-place votes and had 137 points.
Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and defensive end Aidan Hutchinson were second-team All-Pro selections. St. Brown, a first-team All-Pro in 2023-24, led the Lions with 117 catches, 1,401 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. Hutchinson had a team-high 14½ sacks in his return from a broken leg.
Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase were the first-team receivers, and Myles Garrett, Will Anderson and Micah Parsons were first-team defensive ends.
Nacua, Smith-Njigba and Garrett were unanimous first-team picks, and Matthew Stafford became the second player ever to be named first-team All-Pro in his 17th season or later, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, joining kicker Gary Anderson in 1998.
