Building the wide receiver room was a top priority for LSU football when the transfer portal opened earlier this month. The Tigers needed to build the room from scratch and they continued that mission on Saturday, signing former West Florida wide receiver Tyree Holloway.
Holloway hails from the D-II level, but he was recruited by a handful of Power Four programs after entering the portal.
Holloway spent two years at West Florida. In 2025, he caught 34 passes for 661 yards — that’s nearly 20 yards per catch. LSU has made an effort to add to big-play receivers this portal cycle, and Holloway continues that trend.
In 2024, Holloway saw action in just three games, catching four passes for 32 yards. His year was cut short due to injury.
Holloway is the seventh transfer wide receiver to sign with LSU. The top-ranked of the bunch is former Kansas State pass catcher Jayce Brown. Florida transfer Eugene Wilson and Hawai’i transfer Jackson Harris also figure to make an immediate impact.
Holloway probably won’t start for LSU in 2026, but he’ll have a chance to compete in the rotation under new wide receivers coach George McDonald.
