WBC Super Lightweight champion, Subriel Matias, will defend his 140-pound crown against British brawler, Dalton Smith, TONIGHT (Sat. Jan. 10, 2026) inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Matias is 23-2 and won the title by defeating Alberto Puello last summer. As for Smith, he is currently undefeated (18-0) and is the current European and WBC Silver Light Welterweight champion with 13 knockouts to his credit.

They meet in the center. Smith lands a couple of good right hands right away. Nice jab work from Matias. Jab to the body from Smith. Overhand right lands for Smith. Uppercut whiffs from Smith. Another jab to the body from Smith, then goes upstairs with a nice right hand. Another overhand right lands for Smith. Matias not throwing a ton in the opening round. 10-9 Smith

Nice combination for Smith to open up the second frame. Pushes Matias back and lands a clean left hand. Matias is trying to find a groove. Smith is looking very sharp with his strikes early on. They clinch. Crowd boos, don’t know why. Smith with a right hand to the body. Matias can’t get it going, Smith looking very good so far. Matias lands a clean straight right. Matias again with a fast start. Lands a right hand, then goes to the body. Smith puts Matias in the corner, and Matias boxes his way out of it. They clinch. Right hook lands for Smith. Smith foes to the body, then a stiff jab. Matias lands a clean right hand as Smith darts in. Smith lands a left hook. Matias starting to pick it up a bit. Smith to the body, Matias returns the favor. They are going toe-to-toe in the center of the ring and Matias is starting to put his shots together nicely. 10-9 Matias

Matias lands a nice shot to the body. Smith with a stiff jab whips Matias’ head back. They clinch. Matis 1-2 combo lands. Matis peppering the body and lands a big uppercut on the inside.
