Fernando Alonso Spotted Driving LaFerrari Through Monaco Streets

Formula 1 veteran Fernando Alonso has again drawn attention off the racetrack after being seen driving his LaFerrari through the streets of Monaco earlier this week. The appearance follows a similar sighting around Christmas, when Alonso was spotted in the principality behind the wheel of an ultra-rare Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR valued at roughly $11 million.

While the CLK-GTR remains one of the most exclusive road cars ever produced, Alonso’s LaFerrari is no less significant. The Italian hypercar has been part of his collection for some time and reflects a more understated but still highly purposeful specification. Finished in Nero DS Opaco, the car features a matte black exterior highlighted by subtle red accents. The wheels are finished to match the body color, while red brake calipers provide contrast and emphasize the car’s performance-focused design.

The LaFerrari represents Ferrari’s flagship hybrid hypercar, blending traditional naturally aspirated power with modern electrification. Its 6.3-liter V12 engine produces 789 horsepower on its own, paired with an electric motor contributing an additional 161 horsepower. Combined output stands at 950 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, placing the car firmly among the most powerful road-going Ferraris ever built.

Performance figures reflect that status. The LaFerrari is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in under three seconds and reaches a top speed of 217 miles per hour. Despite those numbers, the car is engineered to remain usable on public roads, making Alonso’s drive through Monaco both practical and symbolic of the principality’s long-standing connection to high-performance automobiles and elite motorsport figures.

Alonso’s recent public appearances in rare and exotic cars have reinforced his reputation as both a racing icon and a serious automotive enthusiast. Monaco, long associated with Formula 1 and luxury motoring, continues to serve as a fitting backdrop for such sightings. While the LaFerrari may not carry the same rarity as the CLK-GTR, its presence on the streets underscores Alonso’s deep ties to top-tier performance machines and the enduring allure of hypercars in everyday settings.
