Matchups of top-10 teams last week led to some movement in the Milwaukee-area high school boys basketball rankings.
Our top three remains the same this week with Wisconsin Lutheran, West Allis Central and Greendale going a combined 6-0 on the week. Arrowhead’s 75-52 win over Kettle Moraine moved the Warhawks up, while the Lasers remain just inside our top 10. Port Washington’s 57-56 win over Slinger on Jan. 6 moves the Pirates from others considered last week into the top 10 this week. A quality road win for Homestead over De Pere in a 57-54 final also has it joining the top 10 this week.
Dropping out of the top 10 are Hartford Union, which dropped a 60-56 affair to Whitefish Bay, and New Berlin West, which fell 85-84 to unranked Dominican. Falling out of others considered this week are Milwaukee Bay View (6-2), Milwaukee Lutheran (6-3) and Nicolet (5-6). Taking their places are Howard Fuller Collegiate, Milwaukee Academy of Science and Milwaukee Audubon Tech.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Cudahy
The Packers of Cudahy have endured some forgettable campaigns in recent years, winning just one game each in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. The one win in 2023-24 also came by forfeit, which has made a 5-7 start to the 2025-26 campaign all the more impressive. Cudahy picked up two wins last week, including a 110-78 win over Random Lake on Jan. 6 to set a school record for points scored in a game that had stood since the 1969-70 season. Senior 5-foot-10 guard Anthony Brooks led scorers with 54 points, which also set the program’s all-time single game individual scoring record. Senior 5-11 guard Jeremiah Brooks, junior 5-10 guard Charles Paul Yumang and sophomore 5-9 guard Marcus Castillo each added 13 points, and senior 6-1 guard Dante Knapp added 10. On Jan. 9, the Packers defeated South Milwaukee, 65-64, to earn their first conference victory not coming by forfeit in Woodland East play since Jan. 6, 2023. Trailing by two late against the Rockets, Anthony Brooks was fouled while attacking the rim and knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 64. South Milwaukee was also assessed a technical foul after the play, granting Brooks two additional free throws that allowed Cudahy to take the lead and close out the win. Anthony Brooks led scorers with 29 points, followed by Knapp with 11. The Packers entered the week with scheduled contests at home against Hmong American Peace Academy on Jan. 12, as well as at West Allis Central on Jan. 15.
