Arizona has been quite active in the NCAA transfer portal, getting commitments from 18 players in the first 10-plus days since it opened. That total nearly matches the number of Wildcats from the 2025 roster that have entered the portal, which is at 19 with a few days left in the single window for this offseason.

About half of those who have left the program have found new schools for 2026. Monday saw two-time UA tight end Keyan Burnett commit to UNLV while cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew head to Cal.

Burnett, a member of Arizona’s signature 2022 recruiting class, appeared in the first four games this past season, following one semester at kansas, before opting to sit out and retain his final year of eligibility. It was at that time he left the program, his Wildcat career resulting in 26 catches for 272 yards and one touchdown in 36 games (eight starts).

He is one of five players to transfer out who had started a game at the UA including Groves-Killebrew, who made six starts in 2024 but was used only in reserve this season. The only one to start a game in 2025 was offensive lineman Michael Wooten, who will play at South Florida next year.

Groves-Killebrew, who also briefly left the program last spring when he committed to Nebraska only to come back, is the first of Arizona’s transfers to end up at another power-conference program. Two former Wildcats (defensive back Jshawn Frausto-Ramos and defensive lineman Eduwa Okundaye)are headed to Washington State, which is part of the rebuilt Pac-12, but everyone else so far has committed to either G5 or FCS schools.

That contrasts greatly to last offseason, when Arizona had players end up at Kansas State, Miami, North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington. The Wildcats also lost several starters from the 2024 squad to the portal.
