USC lands Wisconsin tight end Tucker Ashcraft in transfer portal

As transfer portal season rolls on, USC continues to add to its 2026 roster. On Wednesday night, the Trojans picked up another addition, landing a commitment from former Wisconsin tight end Tucker Ashcraft.

In three years with the Badgers, Ashcraft caught 22 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. He was limited by injuries this past season and appeared in just four games, meaning that he should have two years of eligibility remaining.

USC’s tight end room will look very different in 2026. The Trojans’ top two tight ends in 2025 were Lake McRee—who is off to the NFL—and Walker Lyons—who recently transferred to BYU.

In addition to Aschcraft, the Trojans recently signed class of 2026 five-star Mark Bowman and top junior college tight end Josiah Jefferson. USC is also bringing back Carson Tabaracci, who started at tight end in the Alamo Bowl against TCU. Barring another addition, it seems as though those four will be the main players competing for playing time at the position in 2026.

USC is scheduled to play at Wisconsin next season. If Ashcraft is able get on the field for the Trojans, he will have an opportunity to make an impact against his former team.
