The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders are putting the finishing touches on their 2026 transfer portal class, with the portal set to close later on Friday. The Buffs landed a commitment from Lafayette transfer interior offensive lineman Sean Kinney.
Kinney started all 12 games at center and allowed zero sacks in 2025. He was an All-Conference performer and chose Colorado despite holding an offer from Penn State.
The 6-foot-2, 310-pounder was a Freshman All-American in 2024 and will have two years of eligibility. Kinney is a versatile lineman who has started at center, left guard and right guard during his college career. His versatility might be his most prominent trait, as the Buffs recently signed Houston’s starting center, Demetrius Hunter, with the expectation that he would slot in as the Buffs’ starter.

Competition in the spring and fall will be fierce with both Kinney and Hunter competing for the center spot, but also at either guard position.
Kinney is the Buffaloes’ 36th commitment, giving them the 18th-best transfer portal class according to 247Sports.
