The Ravens are embarking on a critical off-season and have kicked it off by interviewing 14 initial candidates, with Robert Saleh the final name before the process moves on to a group of finalists. Over the next 50 days, Baltimore will hire a head coach, embark on a new contract with Lamar Jackson, and will initially have 22 unrestricted free agents, with big names like Tyler Linderbaum, Isaiah Likely, Kyle Van Noy, Dre’Mont Jones, Alohi Gilman, Chidobe Awuzie, and Ar’Darius Washington among those Eric DeCosta will have to decide on.

With the new league year quickly approaching, we’re taking an early look at five Ravens who could earn a contract extension in the coming months.

The Ravens are in the midst of interviewing candidates for their head coaching vacancy, but make no mistake, Lamar Jackson is the biggest priority between now and March 9. Over the next two months, there will be significant negotiations on a contract extension that’ll once again make the two MVPs the highest-paid players in the NFL. Jackson doesn’t have an official agent, and with the help of his mother (manager), Felicia Jones, he’s negotiated his own contract. Jackson, who’ll count $74.5 million against the cap in 2026 and 2027, is soon to be the league’s highest-paid signal-caller. Jackson has a no-trade clause, so any agreement between the Ravens and another team would need to be signed off on by the two-time MVP.

His 1,211 receiving yards rank seventh in the NFL and second in the AFC, while his 86 receptions ranked 11th. Enter year four: Flowers is eligible for an extension and his fight-year option.

Smith signed a five-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 worth $100.0 million with $45.0 million fully guaranteed and $60.0 million in total guarantees. He’s out of guaranteed money and just finished a season where he earned his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl nod. Smith’s team-high 130 tackles (74 solo) ranked 15th in the NFL and 7th in the AFC. He added five tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, three passes defensed, and one fumble recovery.

Entering this season, Robinson was described as a key component of the Ravens’ defense and registered two sacks in his first four games before suffering a broken foot. Robinson has built a reputation as a dependable run stopper and will enter this offseason looking to secure a new deal.

LB Trenton Simpson

Teddye Buchanan is rehabbing an ACL and could miss the bulk of the 2026 NFL season. Simpson started six games, saw action in all 17 games, and primarily served as the team’s top reserve inside linebacker behind Roquan Smith and Teddye Buchanan (knee, IR). Simpson logged a career-high 2.5 sacks and recorded 66 total tackles (34 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and one pass defensed in 17 regular-season games in 2025. and finished with seven fewer total tackles than in 2024, while playing 213 fewer defensive snaps.
