Hafley left Boston College after four seasons as their head coach, posting a 22-26 overall record and a Fenway Bowl victory, He departed for the NFL in 2024, taking a defensive coordinator position with the Green Bay Packers for two seasons. In Green Bay this season, Hafley had the 19th overall defense (DVOA) after getting star defensive lineman Micah Parsons from the Cowboys before he was lost to injury late in the season.
Up to this point, Hafley’s stint at BC was his only experience as a head coach. He wasn’t on the “hot seat” exactly at the end of his tenure, but many Eagles fans were glad to see him go after years of undisciplined teams that tended to be penalized at high rates, gave up late in games, and were poorly constructed overall. We’ll be watching his career with extra scrutiny after his BC tenure ended so abruptly and many fans felt negatively about his time on the Heights.
