Jimmy Butler reacted to ACL injury with hilarious Instagram post

Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler suffered a knee injury during his game on Monday. He will unfortunately miss the remainder of the season.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, the six-time All-Star suffered a torn right ACL following a collision with Miami Heat guard Davion Mitchell. Butler was unable to apply any pressure to his right leg after the incident and he was helped to the locker room.

No matter, though, he still managed to make his teammates laugh while suffering in pain following the brutally

“He was still cracking jokes over there while he was on the ground,” Curry told ESPN. “In true Jimmy fashion, he’s always gonna have a good time no matter what the situation is.”

Butler also shared his own reaction to the news on Instagram with a funny image.

He included the words “general soreness” on the meme, referring to the injury descriptor some coaches use to describe players who are resting from a game due to the wear and tear of a season.

But this time Butler edited it to look like he was an actual wartime general, which was very funny. He also added that he will “be back before you know it” as a caption, which is encouraging, even if it means he will miss the rest of this 2026 campaign.
