Xavier Watts one of three Falcons named to PFWA's 2025 All-NFC Team

The Atlanta Falcons‘ roller-coaster season came to an end in the most frustrating way possible. Once the team was officially eliminated from the playoff race, Atlanta went on a four-game winning streak to finish the year with an 8-9 record.

Despite the late-season winning streak, the team fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot just hours after the finale. The Falcons have since hired head coach Kevin Stefanski, but they still need to find a new general manager.

Before we look ahead to what is sure to be an interesting offseason, let’s take a moment to appreciate some of the accomplishments of the 2025 roster. Three Falcons players were recognized by the Pro Football Writers of America on Monday.

Rookie safety Xavier Watts, right guard Chris Lindstrom and running back Bijan Robinson each made the PFWA’s 2025 All-NFC Team.

The PFWA also announced the 2025 All-AFC and All-NFC teams. Denver leads the AFC with five selections, while Buffalo, Houston and Tennessee each have three on the squad. Seattle leads all NFC clubs with five selections, and six teams (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco) each have three NFC honorees. The PFWA has selected an All-NFL team since 1966, and All-AFC and All-NFC teams since 1992. While no Falcons were named to the PFWA’s All-NFL Team, it’s still an honor for Atlanta’s three All-NFC Team members to be recognized. Robinson was a dominant force all season long, finishing with 2,298 all-purpose yards (1,478 rushing and 820 receiving yards) and 11 total touchdowns.

Watts won the starting safety job as a rookie and led the entire 2025 NFL draft class with five total interceptions, which was also good for the second-most picks in the entire league last season. The former third-round pick looks like a future star, and with defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich returning, Watts should continue to grow as a player.

Lindstrom has been as good as it gets at right guard, helping open things up Robinson and consistently setting the tone for Atlanta’s offensive line.

All three players will help new head coach Kevin Stefanski as he takes over a potentially potent offense while keeping continuity on defense.
