Miles Nelen scored a game-high 34 points as host Cooperstown won a Center State Conference non-division game against UAS on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
The Hawkeyes led at halftime, 40-38.
Yahzir Grimes scored 29 points to lead the Atoms.
Jackson Crisman tied his varsity best with 28 points for Cooperstown, which also got 13 points from Christian Lawson.
Lawson scored his 1,000th varsity point in the game.
Cooperstown (14-0, 4-0) plays at Hamilton for a CSC Division III game Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Koda Stockdale scored a game-high 20 points as host G-MU won a Tri-Valley League game Wednesday against CV-S.
The Raiders led at halftime, 25-21.
Caden Laymon scored 15 points to lead the Patriots, which also got 14 points from Aiden Bosc and 12 points from Hunter Cade.
Jeffrey Barnes and Kyle Keuhn each scored 14 points for G-MU, which also got 12 points from Darren Ruiz.
Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (8-5, 3-2) host Schenevus for a TVL game Friday, Jan. 23.

Ryan Murphy and Carter Swayer each scored 25 points as the Mustangs beat the Eagles in a Tri-Valley League game Wednesday in Richfield Springs.
Shane Dunckel scored 19 points to lead the Eagles, which also got 10 points from Brayden Schultz.
Murphy also had 10 assists and six steals. He and Swayer each made five three-point baskets.

Pat Terk scored 12 points and had 11 assists for S/J, which also got 11 points from Lelend Donato-Williamson.

Appalonia Bushaw scored 13 points to leaf Afton, which also got 12 points from McKenna Ross and nine points from Rylee Rupakus.
Jordan Palmer scored 11 points for Oxford, which also got five points, seven rebounds and five assists from Aubrey Rickard.

Brenna Bolton scored a game-high 31 points as E/M upset CV-S in a Tri-Valley League game Wednesday in Edmeston.
Bolton had five three-point baskets.

MacKenzie McGovern scored nine points to lead the Patriots, which also got eight points each from Bailey Thayer and Emily Fox.

WRESTLING
Lady Knights Invitational
Sidney placed highest among all local squads at the Lady Knights Invitational with Isabella Phelps capturing a title for the Sabres at 114 pounds.
Union-Endicott won the 43-team tournament with 144.5 points. Sidney placed 17th with 70.5 points, just above Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville (65.5 points) and Walton/Delaware Academy (56.5 points). Oneonta placed 23rd with 45 points. Greene/Oxford Academy placed 25th with 39 points.
Phelps, a sophomore, went 4-0 in the tournament with two pins in under a minute and two technical falls. She beat Groton’s Remington Marshall in 27 in the finals.
According to cnywrestling.com, Phelps is 30-1 this season, with her only loss taking place in the prestigious Eastern States Classic in Halfmoon on Jan. 11. She has placed first in four other tournaments this season and took third at the Eastern States.
Madison Farberman placed third at 94 pounds for B-G/A/H, going 3-1 with two technical falls and a pin.
Cadence Brown placed second at 100 pounds for W/DA, going 3-1 with three technical falls.
Kinnley Wightman placed fifth at 138 pounds for Oneonta, going 5-1 with five pins.
Lily Karn placed fourth at 165 pounds for G/O, going 2-2 with two pins.
