Michigan State hockey returns to Munn Ice Arena for an important two-game home series against Minnesota this weekend.
The Spartans picked up a massive sweep of previously-No. 2 Wisconsin last weekend, and now, will look to build off that in a two-game series against Minnesota. The first of the two games will be on Friday night, with the second leg coming on Saturday evening.
Michigan State comes into this series with an overall record of 17-5-0 and a 8-4-0 (24 points) mark in Big Ten play. The Spartans are in third place in the Big Ten entering Friday, training only Michigan (31 points in 14 games played) and Penn State (25 points in 12 games played).
Minnesota comes into this series looking to get things back on track after a poor start to the year. The Golden Gophers were swept by Michigan last weekend, and now are 8-14-1 overall and 4-8-0 (14 points) in Big Ten play this year.
Friday’s matchup will be the first of four regular season games between these two teams, with Michigan State heading to Minnesota to wrap up the regular season in early March.
