The Boston Celtics might not have expected a fight when they took on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Friday (Jan. 23) night, but they got one and then some. A lax attitude early from Boston set the tone against a desperate Nets squad still stinging from a blowout loss to their crosstown rival New York Knicks, the Celtics needing not one but two extra periods to put away a determined Brooklyn team.

Boston held Brooklyn to just 30% from beyond the arc while hitting 43% of their shots from deep, and won the shot attempt fight 109-95, but lost the battle of the boards 58-41 with both Neemias Queta and Luka Garza fouled out in regulation. The ball moved for the Celtics with 35 total assists on the Nets 22, and Boston forced 18 turnovers to Brooklyn making the Cs cough it up just 9 times.
