Tennessee basketball returns from its week-long break on the road against Alabama.
The unranked Vols (12-6, 2-3 SEC) face No. 17 Alabama (13-5, 3-2) at Coleman Coliseum on Jan. 24 (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
The break couldn’t have come at a better time for Tennessee. The last time the Vols took the court, they surrendered a 17-point first half lead and lost to Kentucky, 80-78 at Food City Center on Jan. 17.
Tennessee is also seeking its first road win of the season. Its last away game was at Florida, where the Gators bludgeoned the Vols, 91-67.
Alabama has won two straight SEC games, including an 83-81 win at Oklahoma on Jan. 17. The Crimson Tide will likely play Charles Bediako, a former NBA G League player who previously played at Alabama from 2021-23.
The 6-foot-11 center made the 2022-23 SEC All-Defense team and was a 2023 All-SEC Tournament selection. He averaged 5.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 10 games for the Motor City Cruise this season.
