The Miami Dolphins have been going through some struggles for some time now, and with the Tua Tagovailoa era likely over, with Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan in charge, there’s some hope for the future.
But the 2025-2026 season isn’t over just yet, and for Dolphins fans, things got a lot worse. The New England Patriots are back in the Super Bowl.
And as if that alone wasn’t bad enough, one statistic shared by David Furones of The Sun Sentinel will make Dolphins fans sick.
Brutal Patriots Super Bowl stat will make Dolphins fans sick
“The Patriots are about to play in their 10th Super Bowl since the Dolphins’ last playoff win,” Furones posted.
This stat is hard to believe. The Patriots have been to more Super Bowls than any other team in recent NFL history, but this statistic is one that feels impossible.
But the Dolphins’ last playoff win came all the way back in 2000, with a Wild Card win over the Indianapolis Colts in overtime. They lost in the Divisional round the next week, and since then, they’ve not won a playoff game.
25 straight years without a playoff win, with five appearances all ending in a Wild Card loss, including in 2022 and 2023 under Mike McDaniel.
The Patriots, on the other hand, since 2000 (after the Dolphins won their last playoff game), have made it to 10 Super Bowls.

In 2001, 2003, and 2004, the Patriots won the Super Bowl. They lost the Super Bowl in 2007 and then again in 2011, both to the New York Giants.
But in 2014, the Patriots won, followed by wins in 2016 and 2018, with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl in 2017 in between those wins.
And now, with the Patriots beating the Denver Broncos without Bo Nix, the Patriots will play in their 10th Super Bowl since the last Dolphins playoff win.
This is an incredibly brutal statistic, one that will frustrate Dolphins fans to no end. A turnaround desperately needs to happen for Miami. Just one playoff win would be a start, as this streak needs to be snapped asap.
