The Super Bowl odds opened the total between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots at 46.5 when they were released over the weekend.
Since then, we’ve seen that number slim to 46 points and eventually to a market consensus of 45.5.

DraftKings isn’t seeing such a divide in terms of tickets and money, reporting 57% of bets and 62% of handle banking on the Over in Super Bowl LX.
Traditionally in Super Bowl betting, the Over sees a surge in action closer to kickoff, as public bettors and casual gamblers gravitate toward a higher-scoring, more exciting finish. These patterns can create value for betting against the market if the total climbs too high.
The Super Bowl LX total opened below the traditional key number of 47 and above 44 points, which leaves bookmakers plenty of room to adjust the O/U to action without too much worry of the game landing between those key stops. That said, 46 has been a more common combined tally over the past decade due to changes in the distance of PATs.
Looking at the Super Bowl contenders, both the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks have punched their tickets to Santa Clara on the backs of their defense.
New England is 11-6 on the Over/Under but has finished Under in two of three postseason games. Meanwhile, Seattle is 9-8 O/U and has gone Over in both of its playoff outings.
The Over has been the winning side in each of the past three Super Bowl games, following a stretch of four straight Big Game Unders. Overall, the Super Bowl has produced a 30-28 O/U record (no total for Super Bowl I).
