Florida still among top-seeded teams in USA TODAY Sports' bracketology

Florida basketball got back on the winning track on Wednesday night with an authoritative 95-48 thumping of the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road, setting the record for the Gators’ biggest conference road win and tying the all-time SEC mark for the program.

However, the blowout victory did little to affect the team’s standing in USA TODAY Sports’ latest bracketology update. Todd Golden’s gang remained a No. 4 seed this time around in the East Region, where they are now matched up with the No. 13-seeded Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in the opening round held in Tampa, Florida.

The Orange and Blue are currently ranked 12th in the NET, seventh in the Basketball Power Index and eighth in KenPom.

The top four teams in the bracketology remained the same in this update, but two of them switched regions. The Arizona Wildcats remained perched atop the West and the Michigan Wolverines continue rule the Midwest, while the UConn Huskies and Duke Blue Devils switched places, with the former taking over the South and the latter holding the top spot in the East.

The only major change in this update for the Southeastern Conference was the swapping of seeds by the Auburn Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats; otherwise, teams held their seeds, but some moved over to other regions.

Both the Vanderbilt Commodores and Florida still hold the highest seeds at No. 4, with the former in the South and the latter in the East, followed by the 5th-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks in the Midwest. Next up are the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 6, West), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 6, Midwest), Georgia Bulldogs (No. 7, South), Kentucky (No. 8, South), Auburn (No. 7, East), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 9, East) and Texas Longhorns (No. 10, Midwest).

Meanwhile, the Missouri Tigers are the final team among the first four out.
