Per a release circulated by the Boston Celtics, guard Anfernee Simons, a total of 50 employees of Boston Scientific, and 30 local youth of the Boys and Girls Club of Boston and Metro West and the YMCA of Greater Boston all took part in the 2026 “Fit for a Cause” Challenge kickoff event at The Auerbach Center at New Balance World Headquarters in Brighton, MA this Friday (Jan. 30).
“Early on when I was younger, I didn’t fully understand how important it was to take care of your body and eat the right things, so getting youth to pay attention to these types of things early on really helps,” said Simons of his point of view on the importance of the event.
Per the Celtics, between now and March, the 50 Boston Scientific employees are to take part in the ‘Fit for a Cause’ Challenge, a fitness program that motivates employees to increase their physical activity while competing for the chance to improve their communities with a “pay it forward” prize – the opportunity to work with Boston Scientific and the Celtics to select a renovation project.
