Syracuse coach Adrian Autry found himself facing an uncomfortable moment this week when a caller on his radio show bluntly asked when he would be fired.
The question came as frustration continues to build around Syracuse, who has lost four straight games and continue to slide in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Autry’s team is 13-9 overall and still has an outside chance for the NCAA Tournament with a win over Notre Dame on Saturday.
During the show, a caller identified as Tyler from Binghamton asked Autry, “Who do you think are going to be the best candidates for your job,” before being cut off mid-question. Autry laughed off the moment, but the exchange highlighted the growing impatience among parts of the fan base.

Syracuse has not reached the NCAA Tournament in four consecutive seasons. The first two misses came at the end of the tenure of Jim Boeheim, while Autry has yet to earn a bid in his two seasons since taking over. Autry is 47-40 during his time with the Orange.
Expectations remain high at Syracuse after decades as a national contender. Autry may prefer to focus his energy on coaching his team, but with losses mounting and the postseason outlook bleak, the pressure around the program is intensifying.
