Oklahoma Sooners steady in latest USA TODAY Sports WBB Coaches Poll

The Oklahoma Sooners went 1-1 last week, beating the Texas A&M Aggies in a midweek showdown in Norman before struggling out of the gate in their matchup against the No. 4 Texas Longhorns. Oklahoma dropped one spot in the AP Top 25 but held steady in this week’s USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll.

The Sooners came in at No. 11 in the coaches poll, one spot behind the Iowa Hawkeyes. There are four SEC teams ranked ahead of the Sooners, including the No. 3 South Carolina Gamecocks, who Oklahoma upset in overtime a week and a half ago. Texas comes in at No. 4, followed by LSU at No. 5. The top two stayed steady with undefeated UConn earning all 31 first-place votes. Just behind them at No. 2 are the UCLA Bruins, a team Oklahoma lost to in the second game of the season.

The Sooners have had a strong season and picked up some quality wins along the way. They’re in a strong position to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament in Norman.

Here’s a look at the latest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll from Tuesday.
