Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders earned his first NFL Pro Bowl selection after his rookie season. Sanders was added to the 2026 Pro Bowl roster as a replacement after New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was unavailable due to the Super Bowl. It made Shedeur one of the few first-year players to receive this all-star honor.
Although his statistical season wasn’t dominant in the Pro Bowl Games 2026, Sanders embraced the opportunity with gratitude and excitement. He also became the first Browns quarterback to make the Pro Bowl since 2008.

“Thank you to all the coaches, players, and fans for allowing me to be a part of the Pro Bowl! It was an amazing experience—connecting with the guys, learning, and growing. Truly grateful for the opportunity and hoping to stay connected. Thank you, GOD, @NFL,” Sanders shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Sanders etched his name into a bigger story, too. Shedeur Sanders became the first quarterback with an HBCU background to appear in the Pro Bowl since Steve McNair did it back in 2005.
There is still debate about whether the modern Pro Bowl format boosts or hurts the event’s prestige, but Sanders took full advantage of the spotlight. He delivered an entertaining performance that helped keep viewers engaged as the NFC rallied for a high-scoring 66–52 victory.
With the Pro Bowl Games now wrapped up, all eyes in the football world have shifted to Super Bowl LX, the greatest event on the calendar for football fans.
