Kansas Jayhawks Links
CJ Moore says this Kansas team is the toughest one to figure out how to rank or seed for the tournament, mainly due to Darryn Peterson’s status.
If Peterson ever gets to the point where his injury/cramping issues are a thing of the past and he can be the most talented basketball player in the country without any “buts,” KU is a legitimate title contender.
Baskets from Tre White against Kansas State and Flory Bidunga versus BYU drew attention, but neither head coach Bill Self nor the fanbase is losing any sleep over it.
Fox Sports says the Jayhawks are looking strong recently and have bumped them up to a 3 seed for their tournament projection.
The Kansas Jayhawks are on a roll, and guard Darryn Peterson is leading the way, albeit a little banged up. The Jayhawks are on a six-game win streak after topping then-No. 13 BYU over the weekend and beating new No. 13 Texas Tech on Monday.
The men’s and women’s team will each feature a McDonald’s All American in their next recruiting class.
Kansas men’s basketball signee Taylen Kinney was chosen to represent the Boys’ West team, while Kansas women’s basketball signee Cydnee Bryant was chosen to represent the Girls’ West team.
We have some news on the stadium front (not the Royals or Chiefs).
The next phase is planned to reshape the stadium’s east stands and add a mixed-use district with student housing, a hotel, retail and office space.
Kansas football puts out offers to offensive linemen outside of their typical recruiting areas.
Lance Leipold has predominantly recruited Kansas and Illinois since he took the job in Lawrence nearly six years ago, but over the weekend, the head coach offered two linemen from the south, plus another Chicago Public League standout.
Bryson Tiller is named Big 12 Freshman of the Week after his performance against BYU.
While Peterson was on the bench, his fellow freshman Bryson Tiller stepped up. He scored a career-high 21 points and logged 38 minutes during the win over the Cougars. Simply put, the Jayhawks don’t win without Tiller’s breakout performance.
The UDK has a Letter to the Editor that is calling on KU fans and students to support the women’s team.
May I speak candidly?
This is a blatant display of inequity. This is a rather boldfaced show of preference for men over women. No excuse, barrier or defense can be said to justify these actions. The attitude on campus towards women’s basketball is vastly different from the attitude towards men’s basketball, and the reason as to why is simple: there is not enough value placed on women’s sports.

In case you missed it, Mark Turgeon was hired to the coach the Kansas City Roos.
And now Lawrence and the KU campus can feel like they belong in the world, an Olive Garden opens at the KU Crossing.
From Defector, the World Baseball Classic has an insurance problem.(worth the read if you’re a baseball fan or just someone that enjoys this particular international competition, which I do.)
Ok, that’s it for the links today because everything else is still pretty depressing.
