Bayern Munich were dealt with both a welcome update and an unwelcome blow in terms of training news on Friday.

For starters, Harry Kane returned to training after recovering from a cold that had kept him at home for the past few days. The striker completed parts of team training and looks set to feature in Sunday’s Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim.

However, captain Manuel Neuer was sidelined due to illness. The club announced that he is currently suffering from a gastrointestinal infection. Neuer’s participation against Hoffenheim is thus in jeopardy. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to play in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinal against RB Leipzig next Wednesday.

Otherwise, both Konrad Laimer and Raphaël Guerreiro have returned to team training as well. The former, however, may have to wait a bit longer to make his return to the squad. The Hoffenheim game might come too soon, but the Leipzig game could be a target.
