NFL Pro Myles Garrett Travels from $1.5 Million Ohio Home To Support Snowboarder Girlfriend Chloe Kim at Winter Olympics in Milan

Cleveland Browns starMyles Garretthas jetted out of Ohio to join his snowboarder girlfriend, Chloe Kim, at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, where she is currently aiming to add a third consecutive gold medal to her already-impressive stash.

Garrett, 30—who is fresh off his own impressive win for 2025 Defensive Player of the Year at the NFL Honors—wasted no time in putting his own sports career aside in order to travel to Italy to support his girlfriend, who secured her place in the halfpipe finals with a flawless qualifying round on Wednesday.

The NFL star, who lives in a $1.49 million home in Wadsworth, OH, which he bought one year after joining the Browns, has been open in his praise of California native Kim, 25, who he has been dating since May 2025.

Speaking to People ahead of the Super Bowl, Garrett said he is proud to serve as his girlfriend’s “rock” during her toughest competition, revealing that he was returning home for just 12 hours after the major NFL championship game before heading off to Milan.

“I finish up here Sunday [Feb. 8], get back for about 12 hours, and then I hit the road and go to see her,” he said during Radio Row ahead of Super Bowl 2026, adding, “[I’m] just trying to be her rock because throughout the year, she’s mine.”

Garrett praised Kim for supporting him “emotionally and physically” during his season, noting that he wants to be there for her in the same way she is for him.

“We’re both just so supportive of one another. She’s always texting, she’s always calling to see how I’m doing during the year; and I’m doing the same right now, checking on her, seeing how she’s feeling, emotionally and physically,” he explained.

And while the happy couple are pros at supporting one another in their respective sports, when it comes to doing anything together, he confessed they show no mercy because of how competitive they are.

“It’s so competitive. When we get into our sports, even when we play games against each other. I’m more romantic than her,” the NFL pro, who has earned five first-team All-Pro nods, said of his girlfriend.

The star athletes made their romantic debut in May 2025, when they showcased their love on the red carpet at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan.

Kim was also by Garrett’s side when he broke the NFL’s single-season sack record.

Now, she is focusing on chasing her third consecutive halfpipe gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics after securing a win in her 2018 Winter Olympics debut at the PyeongChang Winter Games, following by another victory at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

If she achieves her goal, Kim will become the first snowboarder to ever win three consecutive Olympic gold medals, according to the Associated Press.

But the pressure of maintaining such impressive athletic careers means that Kim and Garrett are forced to spend ample time apart, with the NFL star living in Ohio throughout the NFL season, while his partner is based in California and travels to different training locales across the globe.

Garrett has been residing in Ohio for nearly a decade now, having signed with the Browns in 2017 after the team selected him as the first overall pick in that year’s NFL draft.

He purchased his Ohio home, which is still owns today, one year later, paying $1.2 million for the dwelling, which is now estimated to be worth closer to $1.5 million.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom property sprawls across 4,333 square feet and sits on a lushly landscaped, 2-acre lot.

Garett has become known for putting up elaborate Halloween decorations outside of his stunning property, including a Terminator-themed display and a Stranger Things-themed display.

His most recent display—a Terminator-inspired lawn set-up—saw him taking aim at several other NFL players, adding skeletons that were decked out in jerseys belonging to a host of talented quarterbacks, including Joe BurrowPatrick MahomesJosh Allen, and Lamar Jackson.

The Browns previously showcased his decor on Instagram and praised him, adding that he “wins” at Halloween “every year.”

Garrett’s public display of support for his girlfriend comes one year after his shock extension with the Browns.

Despite having publicly requested a trade, Garrett had a change of heart when he signed on the dotted line and agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Browns that will see him earning $40 million a year and a total of $204.8 million through 2030, according to ESPN.

The extension, which involves a no-trade clause, makes Garrett the highest-paid nonquarterback in NFL history and ended a five-week saga that saw the star athlete demanding a trade from the team so he can “win.”

He requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns after eight seasons with the team—revealing in a statement shared in 2025 that he has “loved calling [the] city his home” but that he feels obligated to find another team so he can fulfill his “desire to win.”

At the time, Garrett left the football world reeling when he shared the news, issuing a statement to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport in which he explained his decision in full, while voicing his gratitude to the “community of Northeast Ohio” for making him feel so welcome for so many years.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl—and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” he said.

“My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fan base of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

In 2020, Garrett—who was drafted as the number one overall pick by the Browns back in 2017—signed a five-year, $125 million extension, and he still has two years left on his Cleveland deal.

And his statement was likely all the more surprising to football fanatics given that it came just days after Browns general manager Andrew Berry revealed the team would be planning their future around him.

In a press conference Berry said: “We feel really good about Myles obviously as a big piece of our future. We’re looking forward to him being on the field. Like I said in my [early January] press conference, we envision him going from Cleveland to Canton when his career is over.”

Berry also revealed he would reject a trade offer for Garrett that included two first-round picks.

However, Berry’s confidence that Garrett would go “from Cleveland to Canton”—a reference to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is located in Canton, OH—seems to have irked Garrett, who made clear in his own statement that this was never his career goal.

The Cleveland Browns have been a part of the NFL since 1946; and the team has collected eight NFL championships, they have yet to make it to the Super Bowl, which Garrett revealed was one of his career goals.
