With racing kicking into gear around the globe, FOX is looking to revive one of the most beloved racing channels of the aughts, bringing SPEED and its iconic font back to the forefront of its racing coverage.
SPEED ran as a FOX property from 2001 until 2013, when it was rebranded as FS1 and began airing additional sporting events beyond motorsports.
On February 23rd, former NASCAR Champion and current Fox broadcaster Kevin Harvick will be joined by Current INDYCAR and former F1 commentator Will Buxton for a weekly video podcast to discuss all things racing, going beyond just the motorsports featured under the Fox umbrella. The podcast will feature interviews with drivers across NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1, MotoGP, and dirt track racing.
“This is really exciting, Will, and I have already shot a bunch of interviews,” Harvick shared in the podcast’s first commercial. “But we’re going to cover all of racing, we’re going to cover sprint cars, drag racing, IndyCar, NASCAR, we’re going to cover it all on that show.”
For Buxton, the podcast marks a full-circle moment, as SPEED gave him his first on-air break in the world of Motorsports back in 2010, when the channel held the rights to F1 in the US.
16 years ago, SPEED gave me my first break on screen. Beyond proud to be bringing back a name that means so much to the racing community with my friend @KevinHarvick. Your weekly dose of racing news and debate. If it’s got a motor in it, we’ll talk about it. See you soon. https://t.co/XcpGmZZAUP
