With the Crimson Tide set to enter a very challenging stretch to conclude SEC action, is Alabama currently a lock to make the NCAA Tournament, and where do they currently sit in the latest bracket projections?
According to ESPN’s Charlie Creme, Alabama is currently projected as a No. 6 seed in his latest edition of women’s bracketology, which was released Tuesday morning. Creme has Alabama projected in Region 4-Sacramento where the Crimson Tide would face the winner of a No. 11 seeded First Four game between Nebraska and Arizona State in Durham, North Carolina.
Should the Crimson Tide advance past that matchup, Alabama would then face the winner of No. 3 Duke and No. 14 Charleston in the second round.
The Crimson Tide currently sit at 20-6 overall (6-6 SEC) this season, but have struggled as of late by dropping three of their last four games, as well as the last two against Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Alabama also has a challenging four-game stretch upcoming to close out the regular season, as three of those games will come against team’s who are currently ranked within the Top 10 nationally, per the latest USA TODAY Sports Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll.
Alabama’s next game will come this upcoming Thursday night, Feb. 19, at home against South Carolina. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
