Texas A&M remains healthy before hosting Ole Miss in must-win game

Texas A&M (17-8, 7-5 SEC) will look to end its four-game losing streak, set to host Ole Miss on Wednesday night after finishing the toughest stretch of the season, including Saturday’s 82-69 road loss to Vanderbilt. It’s pretty simple: play better, and winning won’t be a foreign concept, especially this close to the SEC Tournament.

Over the last two days, first-year head coach Bucky McMillan has been clear in stating that his starting rotation needs to improve on both sides of the ball, and while playing three out of the last five games on the road is physically draining, three full days of rest/practice should result in a much better performance against and Ole Miss team that has struggled throughout the season, but can still pull off the upset on any given night.

Health-wise, the Aggies have avoided the injury bug since Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako was lost for the season, and after senior guard Marcus Hill fully recovered from his knee injury, the NC State transfer has been Texas A&M’s best player in all four losses, producing double-digit scoring efforts in four of the last five games.

For Ole Miss, backup guard Kezza Giffa is listed as out for Wednesday’s game, while backup forward Eduardo Klafke is questionable with a 50% chance to play. Giffa will miss his third consecutive game, as the Rebels’ lack of depth could be an issue late in the game.

Texas A&M will host Ole Miss on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., which will air on the SEC Network.
