Warriors' Stephen Curry sends warning to NBA as playoffs near

The Golden State Warriors have been operating with a patchwork rotation in recent weeks. Steve Kerr has been without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Kristaps Porzingis, Draymond Green and Seth Curry at different points throughout February. As such, the Warriors have struggled to keep their head above .500 over their last 15 games.

When speaking with ESPN during the Warriors’ 129-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, Feb. 28, Curry admitted that the team needs to get healthy so that it can develop an identity ahead of the postseason. More importantly, Curry reminded the world that when Steve Kerr’s roster is at, or at least close to full strength, the Warriors are capable of winning a playoff series against any team in the NBA.

“At full strength, we are good enough to win a playoff series against anybody,” Curry said. “It’s just— can we get there healthy? First and foremost, if we get everybody together and actually figure out who we are as a team, that’d be great.”

The Golden State has 22 games left in its regular-season schedule. Kerr’s team is currently 4.5 games behind the Lakers, who occupy the sixth seed in the Western Conference. Therefore, the Warriors face an uphill task in trying to avoid the play-in tournament.

However, the most important thing is getting the team healthy again. After all, the longer Kerr is forced to tread water without his star players, the harder it’s going to be to make up any ground. Nevertheless, Warriors fans will undoubtedly hope the team can get back in the win column when they face the LA Clippers on Monday, March. 2.
