After all the dust settled and the San Francisco 49ers signed Mike Evans, the deal was for one year, with $16.3 million in guarantees. The Niners have received positive reviews in the football community after signing Evans.

Trey Hendrickson is the top free agent available. I’ve always been a little hesitant about him and whether his production would translate to a winning team. At Hendrickson’s age with the injury he’s coming off, I don’t know if the Niners would be wise to invest in him.
If the 49ers are going to open the checkbook, former Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen has the highest ceiling and would give you a matchup cornerback opposite of Deommodore Lenoir–who is realistically a CB2. Woolen would also dramatically increase the team’s speed.
The Athletic reported that the 49ers are interested in re-signing running back Brian Robinson Jr. Why draft Jordan James if that’s the case?

Kyle’s update, 11:15 a.m. PT: It’s been a slow morning of news compared to Monday. The Raiders traded Geno Smith to the Jets. The teams swapped late Day 3 picks.
The Texans signed Colts offensive tackle Braden Smith to a two-year, $20 million deal.
The Panthers released defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, who was with Raheem Morris when he was with the Rams. Robinson would take snaps away from Alfred Collins and C.J. West. Neither of those three is considered a pass rusher.
Packer’s wide receiver Romeo Doubs is headed to New England to join the Patriots. It’s a four-year, $70 million deal.
Kyle’s update, 12:28 p.m. PT: One rumor was squashed Tuesday afternoon by Adam Schefter. Connor Hughes initially reported that the Jacksonville Jaguars had changed their tune about trading wide receiver Brian Thomas. The Athletic followed that up by saying the Jets and Giants were interested in Thomas.
On The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter said he’s been told that the Jaguars are not interested in trading Thomas: “His name continues to be floating out there, but the Jaguars have no interest in moving him.”
Thomas, given his physical skill set and rookie contract, isn’t worth giving up on after what he did during his first season as a pro.
Kyle’s update, 3:16 p.m. PT: The Saints are signing former Falcons linebacker Kaden Elliss, who we thought made some sense for the Niners in free agency. Elliss’s deal was 3-years, $33-million.
Elgton Jenkins signed with the Browns on a two-year deal worth $24 million with $20 million guaranteed. That was another potential target for the 49ers.
