It’s not every day that the soccer world and the entertainment industry collide in a headline. When they do, the story usually carries a heartwarming angle.
That wasn’t the case on Saturday.
Pop star icon Chappell Roan now faces backlash from the soccer community after reports surfaced about an alleged incident involving Jorginho’s daughter—one that left the 11-year-old in tears.

According to multiple reports, Roan—best known for her hit song “Pink Pony Club”—had an interaction that upset the young girl during a trip to São Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil 2026.

Jorginho addressed the situation in an Instagram post, where he shared his version of events in detail—and his account casts Roan in a negative light.
He explained that his wife and daughter were staying at a hotel in São Paulo during the festival. His daughter then noticed Roan in the lobby. Unsure if it was actually the singer, the girl walked past her table, smiled, and kept moving. Jorginho emphasized that she did not ask for an autograph or attempt to start a conversation.
Shortly after, according to Jorginho, Roan allegedly sent security over to their table. He claims security confronted the child and her mother in a manner that upset her so deeply that she began to cry.

Jorginho expressed strong disappointment over the situation, especially after security reportedly threatened to file a complaint with the hotel. As a public figure himself, he noted that he understands what it means to be approached by fans.

He insisted that his daughter crossed no boundaries and called the response unnecessary. He closed his statement with a pointed message directed at Roan and her fanbase: “Without your fans, you would be nothing. And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection.”
Roan has not publicly responded to the allegations. Still, Jorginho made it clear that he felt compelled to speak out about the encounter.
