Matt Fitzpatrick’s resurgence continued with an impressive victory at the Valspar Championship on Sunday.
The Englishman followed up his runner-up finish at The Players Championship with a win, underlining his return to top form.
It marks a significant turnaround after a difficult spell a couple of years ago. Fellow PGA Tour pro Michael Kim has now revealed he saw the signs long before last week.

Kim explained that players can sometimes recognise when someone is close to producing strong performances.
“Sometimes you can tell a player is going to play well after a practice round, sometimes not,” he said.
The American pointed to a previous experience with Fitzpatrick at The Open Championship.
Kim highlighted Fitzpatrick’s ball-striking in particular, suggesting it was a clear indicator that his game was in a strong place.
“I played with Matt Fitz at the Open Championship last year and could tell he was hitting it great and subsequently played well, if I remember correctly. His super low driver was really impressive.”

He has now gone one better by securing victory at the Valspar Championship, confirming his resurgence.
With confidence restored and results improving, Fitzpatrick is once again emerging as a serious contender for the major championships.
