It’s widely expected that Apple will announce its first folding phone at next month’s iPhone event, and the leaks keep coming. The latest comes courtesy of Sonny Dickson on Bluesky, who posts two photos that give us a look at the colors Apple has chosen.
Dickson shares a pair of photos that reportedly show the iPhone Ultra camera protector. The shape matches the leaks: a horizontal rounded bar with holes for two cameras, a microphone, and the flash. The packaging says the part is anti-fingerprint, anti-collision, anti-scratch, and anti-water, as well as supporting anti-reflection and auto-focus lenses. The package doesn’t name the iPhone Ultra, but merely says it is for “IP 2026.”
More interesting are the presumed colors for the parts. One is silver, which suggests a white model, but the other appears to be a deep shade of blue, either Dark Blue like the iPhone 17 Pro or Midnight like the MacBook Air. Back in April, Macworld reported that Apple was working on an Indigo option for its folding phone similar to the MacBook Neo. It’s hard to tell from the photo which shade of blue the iPhone Ultra will match, but this is the closest we’ve gotten to confirmation of blue instead of black.
Apple’s first dark blue phone was the Midnight iPhone 13 in 2021 and was inspired by the volcanic rock Basalt, according to Evans Hankey, Apple’s then-vice president of industrial design, who has since left the company. The color has since been used on Macs, HomePods, and AirPods.
