Apple’s updates to the OS 26 operating systems this year have been a nonstop flood of security fixes. You can either blame AI for finding them or thank AI for helping fix them, but either way, the sheer number of security updates released this year has been a huge escalation over prior years.
Today, Apple released iOS and iPadOS 26.6.1 along with macOS 26.6.2. The number discrepancy is because macOS got a 26.6.1 release to fix a security vulnerability that only affects macOS. These updates only fix security flaws, and Apple’s Security Release page lists about 20, including on particularly impactful WebKit update that addresses eight CVE entries on its own.
For those with older iPhones or iPads that cannot run the iOS/iPadOS 26, Apple has released iOS and iPadOS 18.7.10 which fixes most of the same security flaws and many, many more: There are almost 100 security fixes in the 18.7.10 update.
If you’re in the beta test group, you can update to this latest version by opening Settings > General > Software Update.
