Nashville SC is one win away from the MLS playoffs.
Nashville (15-10-5, 50 points) travels to Florida to face Orlando City SC (13-7-9, 48 points) on Sept. 20 at Inter & Co Stadium, needing a win to wrap up a playoff spot with four games to play. The Boys in Gold, who are fourth in the Eastern Conference, can also clinch a spot if the New York Red Bulls tie or lose at CF Montreal.
The playoffs are also on the line for Orlando, which needs to beat Nashville and for Montreal to win or tie against the Red Bulls to secure its sixth straight playoff berth.
Nashville is looking to return to the playoffs, which it qualified for in each of its first four seasons in MLS, after missing out in 2024. While NSC has slumped since August, losing five of its last six MLS games, it beat the Philadelphia Union 3-1 on Sept. 16 to advance to its first-ever U.S. Open Cup final, at Austin FC on Oct. 1.
Nashville won 3-2 at Orlando in the round of 16 of the Open Cup on May 21 and routed the Lions 5-1 at Geodis Park on Aug. 23.
