On the Oregon Ducks‘ second defensive possession in their Week 4 matchup with the Oregon State Beavers, they allowed a 13-play, 64-yard drive that took 7:40 off the clock and ended with a Beavers touchdown. The score tied the game at seven by the end of the first quarter.
From then on, the Ducks‘ defense put the locks on Oregon State. Not a single point was scored the rest of the way, with the Beavers managing just 83 total yards outside of that drive. The Ducks came out on top, 41-7.
Allowing the long march down the field for a touchdown was uncharacteristic of Oregon’s defense; but what wasn’t uncharacteristic was the masterpiece of an effort that concluded the game.
Through four weeks, the Ducks have allowed just 37 total points and have quickly established themselves as one of the top units in college football.
