The NFC West had its first week of multiple losses. The San Francisco 49ers took control of the division as the only undefeated team, while the LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals suffered their first defeats of the season.
No one in the division has more than one loss, but two are 0-1 in the division.

What happened in Week 3 in the NFC West
The 49ers beat the Cardinals 16-15 on a last-second field goal by Eddie Pineiro. They survived another week of no Brock Purdy or George Kittle, played without Jauan Jennings and lost Nick Bosa to a season-ending ACL tear.
The Cardinals lost James Conner to a season-ending foot injury in the loss to the 49ers.
The Seahawks dominated the New Orleans Saints, beating them 44-13 as Sam Darnold threw two touchdown passes and Ken Walker ran for two touchdowns.
The Rams choked away a 26-7 fourth-quarter lead they had over the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. They had a field goal blocked trying to go up 29-21, gave up a touchdown on the ensuing drive to fall behind 27-26. With the ball in the final two minutes, they put themselves in position for a game-winning 44-yard kick, only to have it blocked again and have defensive tackle Jordan Davis return it for a touchdown to make it 33-26 as the final score.
Week 4 NFC West schedule
- The Cardinals host the Seahawks to open Week 4 on Thursday night.
- The Rams host the 3-0 Indianapolis Colts.
- The 49ers will host the 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.
