Mike Hilton, former Bengals DB, signing with Colts' practice squad, per report

The Indianapolis Colts are signing former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Mike Hilton to their practice squad after DB Kenny Moore II suffered a calf injury, according to a report from Indystar.com’s Joel A. Erickson.

Jordan Schultz reported in August that Hilton was scheduled to work out for the Colts, with mutual interest in completing a deal.

Lou Anarumo, hired as the Colts’ defensive coordinator in January, was Hilton’s defensive coordinator for Hilton’s four seasons in Cincinnati.

Hilton was released by the Miami Dolphins ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline. Hilton signed with the Dolphins in late July after playing the previous four seasons for the Bengals.

Hilton, in his ninth NFL season, posted video in July of Cincinnati on his Instagram story, with the caption, “It’s been real!”

Hilton played in 64 games with 36 starts for Cincinnati.

Hilton’s six interceptions as a Bengal included one returned for a touchdown against Pittsburgh in 2021. Hilton played his first four NFL seasons for the Steelers.

In 2024, Hilton was held as Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix scrambled, but no penalty was called during the first quarter of Cincinnati’s NFL Week 17 win.
