I don’t understand why, but Paxton Schultz has been sent down, after being called up yesterday and not seeing action and Justin Bruihl is back up.
Bruihl is a left-handed reliever. He pitched in 14 games for the Jays with a 5.68 ERA in 12.2 innings. He allowed 19 hits, 7 walks, 16 strikeouts and 2 home runs. He had a 3.43 ERA in Buffalo.
It seems pretty often I don’t understand the moves that the Jays make but Schultz has been a better pitcher, can go multiple innings and was called up just yesterday.
The Braves have taken Alec Manoah off waivers from the Jays. I guess Alex Anthopoulos has fond memories of him. I’d imagine the Braves intend to non-tender him and then sign him to a minor league contract. Or that’s what I’d do.
The Braves option Manoah to the minors.
