Will the New England Patriots discipline running back Rhamondre Stevenson for his two costly fumbles in the team’s loss last week to the Pittsburgh Steelers?
That has been the lingering question all week, ahead of Sunday’s Week 4 game against the Carolina Panthers. However, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel put those questions to bed at Friday’s media conference.
“If you’re asking me if Rhamondre [Stevenson] is on some sort of discipline, no,” said Vrabel, via MassLive’s Mark Daniels. “The discipline is we need our best players to play in a game and do their job and take care of football. And we all have to do that. Drake [Maye] had an interception and a fumble, we’re not going to play Josh [Joshua Dobbs] right now.”

Does that mean the Patriots will continue with the same approach, or will Stevenson get fewer reps behind rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson?
That’s another question that fans will have to tune into Sunday’s game to find out. Stevenson could still be very much involved in the game plan, but it also wouldn’t be a surprise to see the offense lean more toward Henderson, who took over late in the game against the Steelers after fumbles by both Stevenson and Gibson.
