Just moments after Texas A&M’s16-10 win over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon, coach Mike Elko earned his third commitment in the 2027 class, as four-star athlete/cornerback Hakeem Frampton chose the Aggies over Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn, and others.
With nearly 30 2027 prospects in attendance, Texas A&M’s elite defensive showing likely impressed most of the recruits in attendance.
Joining four-star QB Jayce Johnson and four-star offensive lineman DaMarrion Johnson, Frampton is lightning in a bottle on offense, possessing elite quickness and speed once the ball is in his hands. However, Frampton’s size at 5’11 makes him a candidate to play cornerback at the next level, and after watching Texas A&M’s cornerback rotation limit Auburn to just 103 passing yards, potentially playing corner full-time isn’t a bad gig in Elko’s scheme.
On paper, Frampton is yet another three-star prospect with a ton of potential that is being overlooked by most teams, and Texas A&M, under former head coach Jimbo Fisher and now Mike Elko, has done an impressive job evaluating underrated prospects, headlined by former standout gadget wide receiver Ainias Smith.
According to 247Sports, Frampton is currently positioned as the 27th-ranked athlete and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Arkansas.
