The Auburn locker room is beginning to show frustration. Team captains Keldric Faulk and Champ Anthony addressed the team following Saturday’s uninspired loss at Texas A&M, while pass catchers Eric Singleton Jr. and Brandon Frazier elaborated further on the feelings throughout the Tigers’ locker room.
Auburn’s leading receiver in a passing effort that saw the Tigers muster just 125 yards through the air, Eric Singleton Jr. did not mince words with the media after the game, saying “[It’s] Very difficult and very frustrating… We’ve just all got to come together as a unit. That’s all.”
Coming together would be a good start for an offense that has look disjointed at best and inept at worst over the last two weeks of the season. Between a struggling offensive line, a quarterback that looks hesitant to trust his reads, and a wide receiver room that has dealt with various injuries to open the season, Hugh Freeze’s scoring unit needs to find its footing soon.
That sentiment was vocalized by veteran tight end Brandon Frazier, although he portrayed a bit more optimism than the transfer wide receiver. Speaking after the game, the senior said, “We know we’re right there in a couple of plays here and there and the game is ours,” Fraizer said. “We have the pieces; we just got to all collectively come together and play all four quarters.”
If the Tigers have any hope of beating a Georgia team that is now desperate for a victory after seeing its 33-game home win streak end against Alabama, Jackson Arnold and company will need to find a way to sustain and finish drives. A return home to Jordan Hare Stadium will surely help, but the Tigers’ offense has a lot to figure out if Hugh Freeze’s team will avoid yet another lost season.
