Does Jonathan Kuminga fit with the Golden State Warriors?

Jonathan Kuminga has struggled to find a consistent role in the Golden State Warriors‘ rotation since being drafted in 2021. His opportunities took a further hit when the Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler midway through last season. And while he did have some good performances next to Butler during the postseason, it’s understandable why Kuminga has been reluctant to commit to a new deal with the franchise this summer.

In a recent video from the “Bball Breakdown” YouTube channel, the host explored why Kuminga has struggled to earn a spot in Kerr’s rotation and how his skill set doesn’t make total sense within the Warriors’ offensive and defensive system. Couple that with Kuminga’s still-developing basketball IQ, and it’s easy to understand where the disconnect is coming from on both sides.

The video also broke down the improvements Kuminga has made in his game and areas where he could help the Warriors if given the opportunity. Of course, the video also looks at the issues and roadblocks Kuminga is facing, too.
